Premium Ord River Rum 2015 Legacy Batch is a rare bottling has been sitting in the back of a cupboard at Hoochery Distillery since 2015, when it was bottled by Spike with the intent to be kept for special occasions or to give it away to family and mates of the distillery. Spike never actually got around to giving it away before his passing in 2017.
Spike thought this batch tasted so good out of the barrel that he decided to charcoal filter it — something Hoochery had previously only ever done on their highly awarded Ord River Rum Overproof. Even more interesting is the fact that this blend actually contains aged rum up to 7 years old!
With a total of only 168 bottles every made, The Rum Club Australia has obtained some of the last remaining bottles to make them available to our members. This legacy batch has been re-corked and rewaxed, but kept in the original old green bottles with the vintage labels. Once it’s gone, it’s gone forever.
