Earp Distilling Co Reggie’s Rum 700ml
When we first heard rumours of a craft distillery opening in Newcastle we were, as you’d expect, a little excited. When the connection was made that Earp Bros were the team behind it, that excitement rose to a whole new level.
Spanning six generations and turning 136 years of age in 2019, Earp Bros is one of Newcastle, and Australia’s, oldest family run businesses. Throughout their long history they’ve achieved many titles including being the first importers of ceramic tiles from Spain into Australia, the only green-certified tile supplier in Oz and the well-earned reputation of being one of Australia’s most respected and innovative businesses.
Whilst Earp Bros is undoubtedly an incredible success story, it would seem that resting on their laurels isn’t a trait that owners Richard and Michael Earp appear to have. Richard shared the story of when Michael first asked if he would be interested in starting a craft distillery. With an emphatic hell yes as the answer, three years on what may have seemed like a bit of a pipe dream has become reality with Earp Distilling Co. now producing their very own core release rum — Reggie’s Rum.
This rum‘s journey is that of Earp Distilling Co. — combining tradition and innovation in a harmonious blend to create something truly special and unique. This hand crafted rum crafted using Demerara style sugar and is matured in ex-bourbon American Oak casks before further ageing in custom Pedro Ximinez and Oloroso Sherry casks.
A lighter and more refined sip than many of the heavy Australian craft rums on the market, it’s a delightful dark spirit best sipped and savoured or used as the base for your perfect rum cocktail.
This rum has been named after Reginald William (Reggie) Earp, who was the only son of Charles Earp. Charles was one of two brothers to George Earp who started our family business back in 1883. Reggie unfortunately passed away after sustaining injuries in WWI but its for his intrepid spirit that we honour him with this rum.
