Dos Maderas Selección 10 Year Triple Aged Rum contains 10 Year rums hailing from the renowned rum producing regions of Barbados and Guyana in the Caribbean and then transported to Spain where it is blended with the Dos Maderas 5+5 P.X. rum aged in old ex-Sherry casks at the historical bodega of Williams & Humbert in the famous wine region of Jerez.
This award winning expression is a rich, decadent rum which should delight fans of Sherry cask influenced expressions such as the Dos Maderas 5+5 P.X. and Luxus varieties. Selección is a blend of the rums that go into both those varieties, using casks of both Dos Maderas 5+5 P.X (finished in Palo Cortado and then Pedro Ximenez sherry casks for a number of years) and the 10-year-old rums from the Caribbean, aged in bourbon casks, which form the basis of Luxus. The result is a palate which at first offers flavours similar to a mature dry añejo rum, and then evolves into the smooth and sweet notes that you’d expect from the Pedro Ximenez casks. The finish is long and semi-sweet.

TASTING NOTES
The distinct notes of sherry oak and sweet Pedro Ximenez Sherry found here typify the house style: Seductive aromas and flavours of caramelised fruits, sticky date, light molasses and vanilla cream feature with honeycomb and caramel rallying late. Decadent and almost aged muscat-like to finish, as with the other Dos Maderas rums, the concentration at standard ABV combined with near perfect sweet/dry balance make it stand out from the pack. Classy and elegant, through and through.
